Dramm 12704 Revolver 9-Pattern Premium Garden Hose Nozzle, Green Review.

I'll admit it. I was a sucker for the cool display and for those wild colors. And the truth is I really didn't need another hose nozzle because there are plenty of them lying around the house. After looking at these nozzles for weeks I finally scratched the itch, using an Ace discount coupon as my excuse.

We've only been together a few weeks, my nozzle and I, but the honeymoon is far from over. I like the looks of the DRAMM, the feel, and the performance. All of the spray patterns work well, and so far there has been none of the inevitable leaking from this fancy nozzle. The DRAMM replaces a recently bought Nelson; I like the DRAMM more because of the additional spray patterns and the distance and spread achieved with the DRAMM.

Even Mrs. Spudman, who could only roll her eyes when I came home with yet another nose nozzle, is smitten with the DRAMM also. She even gave me an unsolicited endorsement of my new garden toy, an unusual occurence for her. In fact, we both like our boldly colored DRAMM so much, I see a new DRAMM for us in the near future for our other hose.

BUT - This beauty does have one flaw though. It can be tiresome to squeeze the handle for an extended period of time. This is why many nozzles have the little mechanism in the rear that keeps the handle from springing back to the closed position. On this nozzle the mechanism doesn't work smoothly and for this user is more trouble than it's worth. Thus four stars.

We have gone through several products similar to this and always ended up with something that broke, leaked or otherwise didn't function very well. We purchased several of these and put them on hoses throughout the yard. All of them have been working great. We have found needs for all 9 spray patterns.

I bought one of these in a garden store to try it and I liked it so much, I am buying 4 more from [...]. This is a great water sprayer; maybe too many options re: spray! Very smooth mechanism, seems heavy enough to last for years.

We had a similar product from a different manufacturer, but it fail miserably. Dramm product is very well made, and the varieties of the nozzle pattern are excellent. I bought two.

This Dramm garden hose nozzle is the one to get. The body is cast metal, with the rubber grip added to it (the colored circles you see in the pics aren't just decorative, they help keep the rubber grip in place). The color on the metal body is a heavy baked-on powder coat. The spray pattern wheel is made of plastic, but there really isn't any other cost effective way to make this. The wheel is protected with a rubber circular grip. I prefer to have the trigger on the back against the palm of your hand like this model has. The trigger is also plastic, but it seems well designed, a bit flexible, and shouldn't break if you were to drop it on concrete. Perhaps most important for long life, the working valve mechanism is brass, not some plated metal, so it should withstand long exposure to water. Fyi the handle has a country of origin legend on the inside, Made in Taiwan.

The spray patterns are good, and the high contrast lettering makes it easy to see what pattern you're selecting (many competitive products don't have this lettering). One of the patterns however seems poorly thought out - "soaker" lets water out of all the nozzles at the same time, but it just makes a mess.

Now will the UPS truck that crushed my old revolving nozzle in my driveway be able to crush this one? I picked bright yellow so maybe the truck driver will see it next time my daughter leaves it out in harm's way.
